Validos adds legal expertise to open source projects
In Validos we aim to add the legal expertise that might be lacking from open source projects to the open source projects.
Normally this is done towards our members but we also aim to be active towards the open source community. It is in our members' interests if unclear licensing issues are solved with the projects, since then OS software can be used even more often. In a larger scale, it benefits the whole open source community and those using OS software, if projects can fix their own licensing issues. |

The reports and analyses done on software packages by Validos are done in English. The same applies to specifications of validation and other similar documents. In addition the benefits and terms of membership also in English.
The reason for this is that the members of Validos operate internationally and have international personnel and thus the reports and other cumulative material is done in English.
Validos.org will gradually switch to English. Validos - a new way to deply open source! The benefits of Validos co-operation increase together with the number of our members: that is why Validos is open to new members. Contact us or ask us to contact you! |

In Validos it has been decided that in early stages focus is on legal validation of software components. Legal knowledge is typically missing from open source projects and it is thereby needed the most. One possible further development plan is adding technical validation (including data protection) in to the same operations model. There are also other possibilities.
A starting point for the cooperation is that all the validations are made on request of the members. That means that the members request validations according to their needs and they can also decide how thoroughly those are made. The results are published for all the members.
Examinations made in validation can be divided in to four categories.
