Validos is ruled by its members and no single member has a power to make decisions or nominate board members alone. The board is elected by the members of the association. As Validos is a Finnish registered association, its operations are based on the Finnish Assosiation Act 503/1989 and the by-laws of the association. In addition, the board decides on membership benefits and terms.

Validos participated in the first Finnish Open Source Meet Up, the Proactum Open Meet Up yesterday 12th May. The event was great, good speach by John Newton (Alftresco) and lot's of discussion on software business and open source.
This First Open Source Meet Up picks up the trail of the Open Tuesday's that had a similar concept.
I deem the first meet op a resounding sucess in wait of the coming meet ups in August and October! |

Working as an outside counsel, it has happened to me more than once that our firm has been asked to legally validate an open source /FOSS package that somebody else already asked us to validate. The validation work, comprising of reviewing of a software packages technical and legal qualities, is conventionally done in each company separately, i.e. many times. The basic part of the work is very similar in every user (redistributor) entity. |
